And on the sixth day, Steve Jobs made the Apple Tablet, and he saw that it was good.

“Anticipation for an Apple tablet (expected January 27) resembles that of Moses bringing down the 10 Commandments,” wrote Mark Abramsky of RBC Capital.

Apple’s invitation to “Come see our latest creation” on January 27th has set the internet aflame and anticipation and rumors are through the roof. We here at Color Happens are big Apple fans, and although I don’t always agree with some of their business strategies there’s no denying their efficacy. This time around, however, it looks as if Apple will definitively trump the entire world’s expectations. The internet is all abuzz about the tablet and new tidbits of info continue to appear. One particular point of interest is the tablet’s expected connectivity with Verizon’s 3G network. This, companied with the distinct possibility of new versions of the iPhone coming to Verizon could spell trouble for AT&T. On top of all this, yesterday CNET.com reported that Apple’s tablet could be sold at $600 each. This puts the tablet in direct competition with other tablet PCs already on the market (HP tablets go for anywhere from $700 to $1500).

Expect a followup from me in the coming week after Apple drops their latest bombshell.
